Bespoke
Monèt is first and foremost a bespoke tailoring house. Our focus is uncompromising craftsmanship, disciplined design, and the highest standards of construction. Every bespoke garment is cut and made in London by Savile Row–trained cutters and tailors, following traditional methods that place precision, balance, and longevity above all else.
We work exclusively with cloth from Holland & Sherry on Savile Row and Harrison’s of Edinburgh on Jermyn Street, operating directly from their London showrooms. These relationships allow us to maintain complete control over quality, handle, and performance, and to work at a level where detail truly matters.
A Monèt bespoke garment is built entirely by hand. Each pattern is cut individually for the client. The canvas is shaped stitch by stitch to form the chest and allow the jacket to mould naturally to the body over time. Lapels are padded by hand to achieve a clean, understated roll. Sleeves are set by hand and eased carefully to ensure freedom of movement and a natural line through the shoulder. Collars are attached by hand so the jacket sits cleanly against the neck.
The process involves multiple fittings, allowing us to refine proportion, drape, and balance at every stage. This is not about speed or volume. It is a considered, methodical approach carried out with patience and total focus, resulting in garments that wear comfortably, age well, and improve the more they are worn.
Monèt House Cut: Suits to Be Lived In
“Our suits are made to be lived in. They’re meant for the day to day, whether you’re heading out for the morning, walking through the city, or catching up with friends over coffee.”
Our House Cut
Our suits are made to be lived in. They’re meant for the day to day, whether you’re heading out for the morning, walking through the city, or catching up with friends over coffee. We love garments that gain character with time, getting better with age and use. Our aim is to make a suit feel as easy and functional as the clothes you rely on every day.
We focus on designs that are genuinely practical. A suit isn’t only for business wear. It can be an effortless choice for life in the city or countryside. Our style has a relaxed, elegant feel, with soft structure in the shoulder and all the important internal components that make a proper suit behave well. Every jacket uses a floating horsehair canvas so it can shape to you the more you wear it.
There is drape through the chest, waist, and back to let the canvas do its job while keeping a clean line through the skirt. The armhole is cut high into the armpit, giving freedom of movement and helping create height through long, uninterrupted lines. The coat is traditional in length and covers the seat.
Trousers sit at a mid to high rise and come in two cuts: a regular straight leg or a wider cut with drape.
Monèt Bespoke
Bespoke tailoring begins without a template. Every pattern is drafted from scratch, shaped by your posture, proportions, and movement rather than a standardised block. The result is a garment that feels instinctive from the first wear, personal, balanced, and quietly assured.
FAQS
What’s the difference between Bespoke and Made-To-Measure?
A bespoke garment is created entirely for you, based on a paper pattern drafted by our Savile Row cutters. The process usually involves around three fittings and can take up to 80 hours of work from our team of cutters, tailors and finishers. Timelines vary, but most bespoke suits are completed in around ten weeks, depending on your availability for fittings.
Our made-to-measure tailoring begins with a fitting using our house fitting garments, allowing us to take precise measurements and assess your posture. The pattern is then refined to your build and stylistic preferences. As with bespoke, you can select your cloth, lining and design details. Most made-to-measure suits are ready for a fitting in roughly eight weeks.
How long does a Made-To-Measure garment take to make?
For a Made-To-Measure garment you want to allow 6-8 weeks from start to finish.
How many fittings are required for a bespoke garment?
Bespoke commissions involve three to four fittings: a baste fitting, a forward fitting and a final fitting, with additional interim fittings if needed to ensure everything progresses as intended.
How long does the Bespoke process take?
Anything usually between 8-10 weeks from start to finish. Although sometimes longer depending on clients availability for fittings.
Do you only make suits?
Although we are rooted in English tailoring, we are not limited to suits. Our collection extends to safari jackets, casual trousers, overcoats, technical outerwear, knitwear, chore jackets, bombers, shirts and more.
